YRA`s institutional philosophy is based on YAD`s peacebuilding, good governance and community development ambition. As the parent body, YAD organizes Youth Unification Matches on the 19th and 20th of December every year, targeting hundreds of youths in the eastern region. The match is a magnet to attract youths and sensitize them against violent extremism. Preparations are now underway for the 2022 edition, and it is estimated to target not less than 500 participants from various youth clubs across Kenema municipality. YRA students usually form one team to lock horns with other contenders.
This year’s themes are “THINK OUT OF THE BOX: STOP USING HARMFUL DRUGS!“, “LOVE ONE ANOTHER: NO TRIBALISM! and NO DISCRIMINATION!” and “THINK POSITIVELY: STOP DOMESTIC AND POLITICAL VIOLENCE!“
